Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958, in extremely poor conditions. Her father sold automobiles and her mother was a teacher at school and was an unreliable actor. Jennifer, the second of four kids in her family was often with her mom to her theater performances and was awed by her. Jennifer's divorce occurred when she turned five. Jennifer was a part of her young life in British Columbia after her mom relocated there with four other children. Jennifer did not consider herself a studious person although she was an artist in her youth. When she was in Canada, she was the subject of bullying often. As she entered high school, her enthusiasm for theater began to wane. In an effort to counter this, her mom helped to take part as an extra in several plays. She encouraged her kids to be passionate about performing arts. Then, she began taking steps.
