In all her years, Sara Evans only held only one goal: create and sing country songs. "God gave me this earth to be an artist," said Evans, according to John Meroney of American Enterprise. This is what I am passionate about and my goal. In addition, Evans wanted to succeed in bringing back the classic country songs brought to life by the legendary artists like Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Tammy Wynette, George Jones as well as Patty Loveless, musicians Evans considered her greatest sources of inspiration. In the latter part of 1990, in a time where most promising country artists turned their attention to more contemporary, pop radio-friendly tunes, Evans established herself in the country genre with songs that looked to the past as demonstrated by her debut album from 1997, True Lies. True Lies, though it got a positive review and received nominations from the Academy of Country Music for 1998's top new female artist however, was not able to create any significant impact. So, when she released her second album, No Place That Far in 1999, No Place That Far, Evans accepted a plea from producers who persuaded the artist to update her repertoire, and eventually, she received the acknowledgement she'd longed for since the age of her first. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, at Columbia, Missouri. Sara Evans was raised with six of her siblings.
