Melina Kanakaredes (born in 1982) is an American actress who is popular for her portrayal of the role of detective Stella Bonasera in the CBS police procedural drama series "CSI:NY," and Dr. Sydney Hansen on the NBC drama"Providence," as well as The Dr. Lane Hunter on the The Resident, a medical drama'. Her first major role in the series in the role of Eleni andros Cooper in the CBS soap series "Guiding Light" was also highly acclaimed.
